Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils derived from a distillation of plant and flower parts, including leaves, stems, and roots for the use in the treatment of various mental/emotional, physical, and spiritual unwellness. Aromatherapy may be used through topical, oral, internal, or aromatic applications to produce a decrease in unwanted symptoms of distress or disease.

Essential oils are central to the practice of aromatherapy. Essential oils are interesting therapeutic agents as they exert their effects not only on physical, physiological, psychological levels but also on emotional and spiritual levels by absorption in the skin or through our sense of smell.
